Planning for later life is never an easy thing to do, but it can be comforting and reassuring to know that you’ve taken care of your arrangements, including your funeral. By taking some time now, you can provide both financial and practical help for your loved ones in the future.
There are two types of funeral plans available
When you choose a pre-paid funeral plan with O'Kanes, you get the benefit of many years of experience. That’s because as an independent family funeral director we have designed these funeral plans based on our vast knowledge and what people want. You can choose to plan your funeral arrangements and pay in advance, at today’s price. For financial security, the payment will be held in a trust until needed.
Prepaid funeral plan Funeral costs continue to rise. The cost of dying has risen by 71% in the last eight years and by 5.7% in 2012*. Further increases are predicted in coming years.
Your funeral plan guarantees to pay for the agreed funeral director’s costs, as long as your requirements don’t change and you stay in the same area, no matter how long you live or what happens to the economy in the meantime. Unfortunately however, due to outside agencies, we can no longer guarantee and prices of grave openings, cremation fees, newspaper notices therefore there is a possibility that this price could rise in the future and if so, you or your family will be required to pay the outstanding amount. We can give you a quote for a funeral plan from our web site, or visit one of our offices or we can make a house call.
When taking out a funeral plan you will need to decide on whether you want:
With pre-arrangement you can discuss your funeral plans with the funeral director which are kept on file and you also receive a copy. The necessary funeral costs are then paid after the funeral.
